The Hilliard Optimist Club competes in the Northwest Football League. The Season consists of eight (8) games in our Flag and Instructional Divisions and ten (10) games in our D1 & D2 Tackle Divisions.
The Northwest Football league is an instructional league which guarantees that each player either starts on Offense or Defense in order to provide as equal playing time as possible. No substitutions are allowed except in the case of injury.
ALL Tackle Participants will have to have an official weight on file BEFORE the start of the season. Fees are $75 for Flag and $135 for all Tackle Football Divisions and Cheerleading. If you’d like more information on the Hilliard Optimist Football program, please go to the NWFL Youth Football Website, or contact NWFL Director.
To provide a safe and healthful environment in which youth may experience the fun of playing Football and to develop the basic concepts of competition within the framework of good sportsmanship.
To teach basic fundamentals of the game of Football. To teach (by word and example) to give one’s best, regardless of one’s circumstances, always produces a winner. To involve adults in helping achieve the above purposes whether as parents, coaches, officials, advisors, fans or timekeepers.
Connor Dietz, A Hilliard Optimist
Connor Dietz, QuarterBack for The US AirForce Academy, is a former Optimist football player. He began playing in the third grade, and never stopped. Connor is an Optimist at heart, and believes that he learned life skills, as well as football skills, when growing up in this club. If you’re wondering what The Hilliard Optimist Club offers kids, Connor Dietz is a great example.
Stay tuned for the upcoming Optimist video sharing more from our club participants!
