2006 Ohio Optimist International Junior Golf Championship Pre-Qualifier The Ohio Pre-Qualifiers will be May 13, 2006, all golfers must enter a Pre-Qualifier event to be eligible to participate in the Ohio Championship. All Golfers must enter the Pre-Qualifiers, Columbus-area Golfers can compete at the Champions of Columbus Golf Course. Trophies and awards will be presented to the winners at the pre-qualifier tournament (as well as the State and International Championship). Eligibility Boys and Girls age 10 - 18 are eligible to compete (official ages are based on contestant's age on or before July 24, 2006). Contestants attended college to compete in this tournament. Sign-Up Official entry applications must be postmarked no later than April 22, 2006. You can download an electronic version of the form here. Tournament application fee is $65. NO LATE APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Qualifying for the Ohio Optimist International Junior Golf Championship Tom Frazier Memorial Qualifying field is the total number of participants playing in all pre-qualifier tournaments. The qualifying criteria is a percentage of the total number of participants in the qualifying tournament. Golfers must also post a minimum score in order to be eligible (should the winner of any age group fail to meet the scoring criteria, he/she will still be eligible).
There will be no tournament for the 10-11 age group in Ohio this year. You may apply at large by calling: Optimist International Sports Department at 1-800-500-8130 ext. 209. Qualifying for the Optimist International Junior Golf Championship in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida The top boy and girl in each age group at the Ohio Optimist International Junior Golf Championship at the Weatherwax Golf Course in Middletown, Ohio, will receive an all expense paid trip to the Optimist International Junior Golf Championship in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. All other qualifiers must pay their own expenses. You must be an Ohio resident to win all expenses paid trip to Florida.
